Scope
This standard specifies the safety requirements for diesel engines with a rated power of not less than 100 kW installed on large yachts for propulsion and power generation. In this standard, "large yachts" refer to commercial vessels with a hull length of not less than 24 m, a gross tonnage (GT) of less than 500, used for sports or leisure entertainment, not carrying cargo, and carrying no more than 12 passengers, in accordance with GB/T 19916-2005. "Diesel engines" in this standard refer to engines that can reach the power output limit of yachts. This standard does not apply to diesel engines used for emergency power generation.
