Scope

This document specifies the rules for establishing and labeling batch specifications. Batch specifications are used to define the conditions of batch characteristics. The value of a certain characteristic can be obtained from each batch workpiece, and the characteristic values obtained from this group are used to establish batch characteristics. Batch specifications (applied to the entire set of batch workpieces rather than to each individual workpiece) can be regarded as a supplementary requirement to a single specification (applied to each workpiece in each individual group). Batch specifications express the statistical assumptions of batch workpieces.
