Seedling Cultivation 6.1 Selection of Nursery Sites The nursery site should be chosen on relatively flat land with deep, fertile, and well-drained sandy loam soil, close to water sources, and with areas shaded by trees. 6.2 Seedling Methods The method used is container direct sowing. When the average temperature is 27–28°C, the seeds will germinate within 11–15 days after sowing. As the temperature rises, the germination rate will also increase. 6.3 Seedling Containers 6.3.1 Specifications Use black plastic bags with dimensions of 13 cm × 18 cm. 6.3.2 Substrate Formulation Remove stones and tree roots from the top layer of red soil (30–40 cm thick) and crush the soil into particles ≤0.3 cm in diameter. Mix the red soil (79%), burnt soil (20%), and nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium compound fertilizer (15:15:15) in equal proportions. 6.3.3 Bagging and Arrangement Fill the prepared substrate into plastic bags and arrange them into rectangular seedbeds with a width of 100–120 cm and a length determined by the terrain. The edges of the seedbeds are compacted with soil, and the aisle width is 30–40 cm. Sow the harvested mature seeds densely in the seedbeds. When the seeds sprout with their first true leaf, transplant them into nutrient bags and place the bags in the nursery. 6.4 Seedling Management 6.4.1 Sowing Time Sow the prepared seeds in July–August. 6.4.2 Disinfection of Container Substrate Spray the substrate with a 5 g/L potassium permanganate solution 1 day before sowing. 6.4.3 Sowing Method Use the direct sowing method. Insert a bamboo stick vertically into the center of the container, shake it left and right to form a small hole, and place the embryo end of the seed downward in the hole.
