Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification and models, technical requirements, testing methods, inspection rules, as well as marking, packaging, transportation, and storage of perfluorinated ion exchange membranes used in the chlor-alkali industry (hereinafter referred to as chlor-alkali ion membranes).
This standard applies to the general technical conditions of chlor-alkali ion membranes made primarily from perfluorosulfonic acid resins, perfluorocarboxylic acid resins, reinforcing mesh fabrics, and hydrophilic coatings.
