Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions related to the electrolysis application of perfluorinated ion exchange membranes used in the chlor-alkali industry (hereinafter referred to as chlor-alkali ion membranes), pretreatment and cutting, installation, leak detection and disassembly, operation and maintenance, and performance evaluation.
This standard applies to the application specifications of perfluorinated ion exchange membranes in the process of producing sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide by the chlor-alkali ion membrane method.
