Scope

Main technical content: Xinjiang's "famous, unique, and high-quality" fruits, Xiangli pears, are renowned at home and abroad for their thin skin, tender flesh, crispy texture, juicy and sweet taste, rich aroma, and superior quality. They are also one of the important agricultural products for export and foreign exchange earnings in southern Xinjiang. With its unique geographical advantages, southern Xinjiang has become a key base for the pear industry in Xinjiang and even the whole country. As the world's fruit cultivation system changes and the market price of Xiangli pears fluctuates and gradually rises, the planting area of Xiangli pears in southern Xinjiang has gradually increased, and the production capacity has continued to rise. Currently, Xiangli pears mainly adopt high-density dwarfing seedling planting to shorten the shaping period, promote early flowering and fruiting, improve yield and quality, reduce labor input, and achieve significant economic benefits, which is an inevitable trend in the industrialization of the pear industry. However, with the increase in planting density, the number of transplanted plants also increases, leading to higher planting costs, uneven garden appearance, and underdeveloped root systems, which require higher fertilizer and water requirements. To address this issue, some scholars began exploring the live planting technology of Korla Xiangli pears in 2014 by drawing on the experience of live planting of date trees, and implemented it in Alar Farm from 2015, with 104.39 hectares of live planting and 40.60 hectares of seedling planting. In 2016, another 218.32 hectares of live planting were implemented. Through the comparison of live planting and seedling planting of Korla Xiangli pears, it was found that live planting has lower planting costs, a more uniform garden appearance, and the ability to achieve quick and convenient grafting the following year.
