Scope

This standard specifies the main chemical component indicators in tobacco and tobacco products, including: total volatile alkali, water-soluble sugars (water-soluble total sugars, reducing sugars), total plant alkaloids, total nitrogen, chlorine, total protein, potassium, calcium, magnesium, petroleum ether extract, chlorogenic acid, rutin, starch, pH value, and ash. The guidelines for establishing and validating near-infrared correction models are also provided in this standard. This standard applies to the establishment and validation of near-infrared correction models for the main chemical component indicators in tobacco and tobacco products (solid powders with a particle size of ≤0.4 mm) in the near-infrared spectral region (12,800 cm-1 to 4,000 cm-1 or 780 nm to 2,500 nm).
