Scope

This document specifies the characteristics, dimensional specifications, tolerances, and rated static load requirements of rolling bearings (excluding tapered roller bearings) used in aircraft fuselages. This document applies to the design of rolling bearings used in the general structures of aircraft, including control surfaces, lift enhancing surfaces, doors, and related mechanical structures. This document does not apply to bearings used in engines, auxiliary power units, accessories, and instrumentation. For bearings not included in this document, the possibility of their successful application on aircraft fuselages is not ruled out.
