Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, structural forms, models and parameters, technical requirements, materials, test methods, inspection rules, marking, protection, packaging, and storage and transportation of eccentric hemispheric valves (hereinafter referred to as "hemispheric valves").
This standard applies to gray cast iron and nodular cast iron hemispheric valves with nominal pressures of PN2.5 to PN25 and nominal sizes of DN40 to DN2000; and to carbon steel, alloy steel, and stainless steel hemispheric valves with nominal pressures of PN2.5 to PN100 and nominal sizes of DN40 to DN2000.
