DB32/T 4485-2023 Angular butt welding joint of large-diameter thick-walled pipe with phased array ultrasonic testing technology specification

Scope

This document establishes the phased array ultrasonic testing process for large-diameter thick-walled pipe seat angle welded joints of steel (carbon steel and low-alloy steel) pressure equipment. It specifies the general principles and requirements of the testing process, preparation for testing, implementation of testing, analysis of testing data and defect evaluation, and recording and reporting of testing results.
This document is applicable to phased array ultrasonic testing of pipe seat angle welded joints with a cylinder diameter of ϕ1380 mm or more, a wall thickness of 40 mm to 200 mm, a connection pipe diameter of ϕ325 mm to 560 mm, and a wall thickness of 30 mm to 120 mm. It also applies to insertion-type pipe seat angle welded joints with a connection pipe diameter of ϕ219 mm to 800 mm and a wall thickness of 30 mm to 150 mm.
