Scope

This standard specifies the selection and preparation of metallographic test samples for medium- and high-strength stainless steel castings used in engineering structures, the evaluation methods for metallographic structure, martensite grade, δ ferrite content, and non-metallic inclusions, as well as the inspection report.
This standard is applicable to the metallographic structure inspection of medium- and high-strength stainless steel castings used in engineering structures of the Cr-Ni-Mo series. The metallographic structure inspection of medium- and high-strength stainless steel castings of other grades can be carried out with reference to this standard.
