T/WJQMA 010-2024 Improved Drip Irrigation Cultivation Technology for Open-Field Watermelons
T/WJQMA 010-2024
Basic Information
Scope
Main technical content: Watermelon is an important fruit loved by people. High-quality thick-skinned watermelons have become high-end fruits in both domestic and international markets, and countries around the world are competing to develop them. The thick-skinned watermelons produced in Xinjiang are called Hami melons, which are traditional high-quality melons in China. They are rich in nutrients and have a unique flavor, and are known as the "King of Melons". The Sixth Division Agricultural Science Research Institute has successively undertaken and presided over the XPCC science and technology public relations projects "Breeding of New Watermelon Varieties and Innovation of Germplasm Resources" and "Breeding and Application of High-Quality, Disease-Resistant and Stress-Resistant New Varieties of Western Watermelon". Under drip irrigation cultivation conditions, through years of production demonstration, the cultivation techniques such as mechanical film laying and trenching, water and fertilizer application, and pest and disease control have been integrated and matured. The improved drip irrigation cultivation technology rules for open-field watermelons have been perfected and formed, and good results have been achieved in production practice. Now, the technical rules are being applied for filing as a group standard.
