Main Technical Content: Organic Onion Field Production Process in Baishui, Chengde 1 Scope This document specifies the technical requirements for cultivation management, including site environment, planting methods, variety selection, cultivation management, pest and disease prevention, and harvesting, for organic onion production. It is applicable to the strict organic onion production of Fengning Changda Agricultural Development Co., Ltd., and can be referenced by other organic onion bases in Baishui, Chengde and its surrounding areas. 2 Normative References The following documents are essential components of this document through normative references. Among them, the referenced documents with specified dates apply only to the corresponding versions on that date; for those without specified dates, the latest versions (including all amendment sheets) apply. - GB 15618: Soil Environmental Quality - GB 5084: Water Quality for Irrigation of Farmland - GB 3095: Ambient Air Quality - GB/T 19630.1: Organic Products – Part 1: Production 3 Site Environment The site environment shall meet the requirements of GB 15618 for Soil Environmental Quality, GB 5084 for Water Quality for Irrigation of Farmland, and GB 3095 for Ambient Air Quality. The onion-growing soil should be loose, deep, nutrient-rich, well-aerated, and have a neutral sandy loam pH of 6–8. The soil should be rotated with non-onion/garlic vegetables. 4 Planting Methods Outdoor film-covered planting. 5 Variety Selection Preferably select disease-resistant, high-yielding, and stress-tolerant varieties, such as Ziyu and Xin Hongxing. 6 Production Processes First Process: Cleaning the Field Remove and dispose of residual branches and leaves from the previous crop. Second Process: Tilling the Soil Till the soil to a depth of 25–30 cm, preferably using mechanical tillage to maintain soil structure and achieve the effect of crushing, pulverizing, and leveling the soil.
