Scope
This standard specifies the system configuration, test reference points, and test methods for EPON devices with a transmission rate of gigabits per second based on Ethernet technology. It also covers the OLT/ONU line transmission optical interface, network-side interface, and user-side interface of these devices, as well as their transmission performance, functionality, network management, and device security. This standard is applicable to EPON devices in public telecommunications networks, and it can also be used as a reference for private telecommunications networks.
