Scope
This standard specifies two accelerated corrosion test methods, Method A and Method B, for evaluating the corrosion behavior of metals and alloys with or without coatings in atmospheric environments, and stipulates the equipment to be used. Both tests include salt deposition and a drying/wetting cycle environment under constant absolute humidity.
Method A is suitable for: metals and their alloys (including corrosion-resistant alloys).
Method B is suitable for:
—— metals and their alloys;
—— metals and their alloys with coatings [including metal coatings (cathodic or anodic), organic coatings, and conversion films].
