Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and marking, packaging, transportation, and storage for protection circuit boards of lithium-ion batteries. This standard applies to protection circuit boards for single-cell rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, polymer rechargeable lithium batteries, and other similar rechargeable lithium batteries for general use (hereinafter referred to as protection circuit boards). The lithium-ion batteries, rechargeable lithium batteries, and other similar rechargeable lithium batteries referred to in this standard generally refer to batteries made from materials containing lithium cobalt oxide or lithium manganese oxide. For protection circuit boards attached to other functional circuit boards, the applicable parts may be referenced for implementation.
