Scope

Scope: This document specifies the selection of planting sites, land preparation, seed tuber selection, seed tuber treatment, planting, field management, pest and disease control, and timely harvesting for the production of yellow yam tubers in Yunnan Province. This document is applicable to high-yield cultivation of yellow yam in Yunnan Province. Main technical contents: 1. Terms and definitions: There are no terms or definitions that need to be defined in this document. 2. Site selection: The selection of plots shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of T/YNRZ 017-2024. 3. Land preparation: 3.1 One month before planting, all weeds in the planting plots shall be removed, and the land shall be prepared according to the original terrain with the procedures of "one loosening, one plowing, and two harrowing". The depth of loosening and plowing shall be at least 30 cm, with one plowing, and all weeds, tree roots, and stones shall be cleared. Two harrowings shall be carried out to fully crush the soil clumps. Calcium carbonate (at least 50 kg/mu) shall be evenly scattered on the soil surface, and the soil shall be exposed to sunlight for about 15 days. 3.2 Ridge construction: Ridges shall be constructed along the contour lines. The width of the ridge base shall be 120 cm, the width of the ridge face shall be 100 cm, and the ridge height shall be 30 cm, with a ridge spacing of 30 cm. 3.3 Base fertilization: Organic fertilizer (1000 kg/667 m2) and slow-release compound fertilizer (N:P2O5:K2O = 15:15:15) (50 kg/667 m2) and calcium magnesium phosphate fertilizer (50 kg/667 m2) shall be evenly scattered on the ridge face and mixed with the topsoil of the ridge, and the ridge shall be leveled and covered with plastic film. The fertilizers used shall comply with the provisions of NY/T 394. 4. Seed tuber selection: The selection of seed tubers shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of T/YNRZ 018-2024. 5.
