Scope

Scope: This standard specifies the production conditions, crop rotation arrangements, variety selection, seedling cultivation, transplanting, field management, pest and disease control, and product harvesting, packaging, and storage for green food watermelon cultivation in the Kashgar region of Xinjiang. Main technical content: 6. Watermelon greenhouse seedling cultivation 6.1 Seedling bed selection: Choose a field with good drainage, sheltered from the wind and facing the sun, where no cucurbitaceae crops such as watermelon have been grown in the past three years, and with convenient water and electricity supply. 6.2 Seedling facilities: For early spring seedling cultivation, adopt the technique of large greenhouse + medium greenhouse + small arched greenhouse for heating and humidification, and install electric heating lines and temperature controllers to adjust the temperature, which is conducive to regulating growth and ensuring full, even, early, and strong seedlings. 7. Seeding 7.1 Seeding period: For varieties transplanted in early spring, the seeding period is generally selected in early January. 7.2 Seed treatment: According to the characteristics of the seeds, select and remove deformed, broken, and seeds with abnormal color, shape, and fullness. Then conduct germination tests. Before sowing, it is best to sun-dry the seeds for half a day and then start soaking them: using constant temperature soaking or warm water soaking methods. The constant temperature soaking technique generally soaks the seeds in 12-25°C water for 12-24 hours, stirring and scrubbing every 4-5 hours. The warm water soaking method soaks the seeds in 55-60°C warm water (two boiled water mixed with one cold water), stirring while soaking for about 7-8 minutes, and then lowering the water temperature to about 30°C after 12 hours of soaking, changing the water and scrubbing to remove the mucus attached to the seeds. 7.3 Seedling bed preparation: Level and compact the selecte
