Scope

This document describes the methods of clinical diagnosis and laboratory diagnosis of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS). This document is applicable to the diagnosis and monitoring of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome. Clinical diagnosis methods are suitable for the diagnosis of clinically suspected cases of PRRS, virus isolation and identification, reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RTPCR) and real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (Realtime RTPCR) are suitable for the detection of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV), immunoperoxidase monolayer assay (IPMA), indirect immunofluorescence assay (IFA) and indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) are suitable for the detection of PRRSV antibodies and the monitoring of infection status.
