Scope
This part of "Nuclear Criticality Safety of Fissile Materials Outside the Reactor" stipulates the criteria for considering the reactivity effects caused by fuel irradiation and radioactive decay in the criticality safety control of commercial light water reactor uranium dioxide fuel assemblies during storage and transportation. This part also proposes requirements for describing fuel burnup in the input of criticality safety evaluation.
This part applies to the storage and transportation of commercial light water reactor uranium dioxide fuel assemblies.
This part assumes that the fuel and any fixed combustible absorbers are contained within the complete assembly. Fuel that has been disassembled, reinforced, damaged, or reassembled in any way requires further analysis.
