Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, principles of appraisal and assessment, general requirements for appraisal and assessment, investigation and determination of surface water environmental damage, causality analysis, quantification of surface water environmental damage, quantification of surface water environmental damage value, and evaluation of restoration effects, etc. for the appraisal and assessment of surface water environmental damage directly caused by illegal discharges and sudden environmental incidents in rivers (including tidal sections), lakes, canals, reservoirs, and other surface waters with different usage functions. This standard does not apply to the appraisal and assessment of environmental damage caused by nuclear and radiation, nor to the appraisal and assessment of personal and property damage caused by surface water environmental damage.
