Scope
Scope: This document specifies the initial processing, inspection, packaging, storage, transportation, and traceability system management of geographical indication products - Shibing Taishen Ginseng. This document is applicable to the initial processing, storage, transportation, and sales of geographical indication products - Shibing Taishen Ginseng; Main technical content: 1. Initial processing 1.1 Process flow: Fresh root - washing - drying - removing impurities - fully dried - inspection - packaging - finished product. 1.2 Site requirements: The drying site should be away from polluted areas such as enterprises with "three wastes" emissions, highways, garbage dumps, and livestock farms, to ensure good environmental conditions around the processing site. Protective measures: Set up protective fences around the drying site to prevent livestock from entering and causing secondary pollution. 1.3 Washing: The harvested Taishen Ginseng should be washed with clean water on the same day, and the water used should comply with GB 5749. 1.4 Drying: Sun-drying method: Spread the washed root thinly on a drying mat. It is not advisable to dry it directly on the cement floor. During drying, attention should be paid to timely turning over to ensure that each root is evenly exposed to sunlight. After autumn, in the night, when the air humidity is high, it is necessary to cover and store the Taishen Ginseng to prevent moisture absorption. Heat-drying method: After washing, spread the root thinly on a drying mat for 1-2 days. When the root becomes soft after losing water, remove the side roots and move it to the drying room at 50-60°C until the water content reaches 9%-12%. 1.5 Removing impurities: When the Taishen Ginseng is dried to 60-70% dryness, the side roots should be removed in time, along with sand, other plant roots, and non-medicinal parts.
