Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions of geodetic instruments such as rangefinders, levels, and theodolites, as well as components used in military topographic surveying, geological surveying, plane surveying, and engineering surveying. However, terms related to photogrammetry, astronomy, hydrological surveying, and industrial surveying are excluded.
