Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements, testing conditions, and testing methods for measuring the scale factor KA-B of nano-thin specimens using analytical electron microscopes (AEM/EDS), which are either transmission electron microscopes or transmission electron microscopes equipped with scanning attachments and X-ray spectrometers (EDS).
This standard applies to the quantitative elemental analysis of inorganic thin samples using analytical electron microscopes (AEM/EDS). This standard does not include organic matter and biological specimens.
