Scope
This document specifies the technical requirements for the physical vapor deposition of high-purity cadmium coatings on steel, iron, and other base metals. This document describes the test methods for coating performance requirements, as well as the identification methods for cadmium coatings, chromate conversion films, and other subsequent treatments.
Cadmium coatings are not suitable for the treatment of product parts whose temperature reaches 225°C or higher during use, or for situations where they may come into contact with other parts that reach this temperature.
