Scope
Scope: This standard specifies the technical regulations for high-efficiency farming of sheep in family-run sheds. It is applicable to full-shed farming with high input and high output in family units; Main technical content: 3.1 Concept of family sheep farms: A new type of agricultural and animal husbandry entity with the basic organizational unit being a farmer's family and the main labor force being family members, engaged in moderate-scale specialized meat sheep farming, with meat sheep income serving as the main source of family income. It features professionalized operation subjects, moderate scale, standardized management, standardized production, and market-oriented operation. 3.2 High-efficiency farming technology model for family sheep farms: A high-input and high-output farming technology model in family units. Farming scale: able to breed 50-100 breeding ewes, with a farming scale of 150-500 ewes and an annual output of 100-400 meat sheep. 4. Meat sheep breeds: Boer goats, Jianzhou big-eared goats, Yunshang black goats, and other breeds with high fertility and fast growth rates, as well as their crossbred animals. 5. Supporting facilities: The construction of sheep sheds should be located in areas with high altitude, dryness, sheltered from the wind, abundant water resources, good water quality, and convenient transportation. It should be equipped with production areas, living areas, fodder storage warehouses, supporting exercise yards, veterinary rooms, and harmless disposal points, etc. The layout of functional areas, area size, and other supporting facilities shall comply with the provisions of DB51/T 933—2009. 6. Disease prevention and control: During the farming process, we should adhere to the prevention-first and prevention-over-treatment principles, strengthen husbandry management, regular disinfection, and scientific immunization.
