Scope
This standard specifies the method for determining the content of a mixture of polyacrylonitrile fibers and cotton fibers after the removal of non-fiber materials using the formic acid/zinc chloride method. If there are certain modified polyacrylonitrile fibers in the sample, it should be tested in advance to determine whether they are soluble in the reagents. This standard is not applicable to mixtures in which the cotton fibers have undergone severe chemical degradation.
