Scope
This standard specifies laboratory test methods for processing brake linings in an accelerated corrosion environment and test methods for evaluating the bonding strength caused by corrosion. In order to compare the characteristics of the linings, the materials and surface conditions of the iron metal coupling surfaces are kept constant to ensure the repeatability of the tests.
This standard applies to drum brake linings and disc brake pads used in road vehicles. Both new and used ones can be tested according to this standard.
