Basic Information
Scope
This standard specifies the requirements for household and similar appliances to prevent non-potable water from siphoning back into the water source, and also the requirements for hose assemblies connected to water supply sources with a water pressure not exceeding 1 MPa.
Note 1: Similar uses include appliances installed in canteens, restaurants, laundries, and public places.
Note 2: This standard does not apply to the following appliances:
—— Appliances used for dry cleaning;
—— Appliances for medical purposes;
—— Appliances for industrial purposes;
—— Water heaters integrated into the water supply system;
—— Water coolers integrated into the water supply system.
Note 3: The connection between the appliance and the water source can be temporary or permanent.
Note 4: "Water source" also includes water supply tanks or similar systems.
Note 5: Relevant national regulatory authorities may also require preventing the contamination of drinking water caused by unsuitable materials upstream of the anti-backflow device.
