Scope
This document specifies the models and naming, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, transportation, and storage of all-dielectric self-supporting optical cables (ADSS optical cables, hereinafter referred to as optical cables). This document is applicable to the design, development, production, and testing of ADSS optical cables used in overhead transmission systems, and is also applicable to ADSS optical cables in environments such as areas prone to lightning strikes and large-span overhead installations.
