Scope

This standard specifies the test method for determining the interfacial tension of surfactants using the liquid-film pull-out method.
This standard is applicable to two immiscible liquid phases (one aqueous phase and one organic phase) containing one or more anionic or nonionic surfactants, and also to two immiscible liquid phase systems other than the above-mentioned ones.
This standard is not applicable to the determination of the interfacial tension of two immiscible liquid phase systems containing cationic surfactants. The interfacial tension of such systems can only be determined by the titration volume method.
