Scope
This standard specifies the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) detection method for bovine, cattle, goat, sheep, and pig-derived components in natural leather. This standard is applicable to the qualitative detection of animal-derived components in bovine, cattle, goat, sheep, and pig leather. This standard is not applicable to the detection of materials such as recycled leather and artificial leather (synthetic leather) impregnated with hydrolyzed collagen.
