Scope

This document specifies the static test method used to determine and evaluate the operator's field of vision around a 1-meter-long rectangular boundary and a 12-meter-radius viewing circle of an off-road telescopic forklift. This document also stipulates the performance requirements for the field of vision. This document applies to off-road telescopic forklifts (hereinafter referred to as "forklifts") with the operator's seat located on the left or center of the boom (excluding forklifts with the operator's seat located on the right side of the boom). This document does not apply to: -- forklifts designed for transporting freight containers (front-end loaders); -- articulated telescopic wheeled loaders; -- rotating forklifts; -- truck-mounted forklifts. Note: The method used does not cover all positions of the operator's field of vision, but provides information to help determine the acceptability of the forklift's field of vision.
