Scope

This standard specifies the method for determining the volatilization rate of samples by thermogravimetry.
This standard is applicable to the use of thermogravimetry analyzers to test the volatilization rate of a single volatile component in the temperature range of 25 °C to 500 °C. This standard is applicable to samples with a volatilization rate greater than 5 μg/min. It is the responsibility of the users of this standard to determine whether repeat testing is necessary and the number of repeat tests required to meet the usage requirements.
This standard does not include all safety issues related to its use. Before using the method described in this standard, it is the responsibility of the user to establish appropriate safety and health regulations and to confirm the applicability of these regulations.
