Scope
This standard specifies the method for determining the content of hydrogen sulfide, methyl mercaptan, and ethyl mercaptan in crude oil using a gas chromatograph.
This standard is applicable to the determination of the content of hydrogen sulfide, methyl mercaptan, and ethyl mercaptan in stable crude oil ranging from 2.0 mg/kg to 200 mg/kg. It is also applicable to crude oil with a high content of sulfides, which can be determined by diluting it with a sulfur-free solvent.
