Scope

Scope: This document specifies the terms and definitions, registration conditions, registration content, application and verification, and file management requirements for the registration of Holstein dairy cows in Ningxia. This document applies to the registration of Holstein dairy cows in Ningxia. Main technical content: 3. Terms and definitions The following terms and definitions apply to this document. 3.1 High-yield cow registration This refers to the centralized registration of information such as the herd number, pedigree, body type evaluation, production performance, and reproductive performance of high-quality Holstein dairy cows in a dedicated registry book or computer system, implementing specific breeding data management measures. 3.2 305-day milk yield The total milk production from the day of calving to the 305th lactation day. If the lactation period is less than 305 days, the actual milk production and quantity are calculated; if the lactation period exceeds 305 days, only the actual milk production for 305 days is taken. [Source: GB/T 3157] 3.3 305-day fat yield The fat content in milk over 305 days. 3.4 305-day protein yield The protein content in milk over 305 days. 3.5 Mature equivalent The milk production of different parities is corrected to the equivalent of the fifth parity (mature) by multiplying the milk production during the lactation period by a correction coefficient. The correction coefficients for 305-day milk production with different lactation periods and parities are shown in Appendix A. 3.6 Body type classification A method of quantitatively evaluating the body type of dairy cows. For each body type trait, the maximum and minimum values of the trait are determined based on the range of biological variation, and then scored on a linear scale. [Source: GB/T 35568] 4. Registration conditions 4.1 Registration requirements The dairy cows must have undergone Holstein breed registration and be healthy
