Scope: This document specifies the terms and definitions, grafting methods, variety selection, grafting period, grafting methods, grafting management, shaping and pruning, soil and fertilizer management, and pest and disease control for the "high grafting and variety replacement" production technology of locust trees. Scientificity: Lei Maoduan, a member of the National People's Congress, Party Secretary of Goudong Village, Sanluli Town, Yuncheng City, Shanxi Province, and Chairman of Xin Zhong Sheng Locust Tree Planting Professional Cooperative, has been studying locust trees since the 1980s. He has studied more than 100,000 locust trees from over 30 provinces (cities) including Shanxi, Shaanxi, Henan, Hebei, Gansu, Guangdong, Guangxi, and Chongqing, and successively bred three high rutin single-season locust varieties, including Locust Tree No. 1. Under the leadership of Lei Maoduan, the drafting group has been continuously exploring and innovating in the fields of soapberry seedling cultivation, elite variety breeding, and cultivation production. Since 2011, they have started planting double-season locust trees, and in 2012, they completed the "Research on the Selection and High-Yield Cultivation Techniques of Excellent Single-Lineage Locust Varieties (Jin Ke Jian No. [2012] No. 041)" project. On the basis of production demonstration and promotion, combined with the review of relevant literature on locust tree cultivation and management in recent years, through investigation, research, and experiments, the relevant content of this document was formed.
