Scope

Scope: This part specifies the terms and definitions of seed propagation, seed sources, field-grown seed propagation, seed quality, testing methods, and requirements for testing rules. This part applies to the field-grown seed propagation of Chongde fragrant rice; Main technical content: 5. Field-grown seed propagation 5.1 Propagation base environment free of quarantine-regulated pests and diseases. The propagation base environment shall comply with the provisions of NY/T 391. 5.2 Propagation techniques 5.2.1 Cultivation of strong seedlings 5.2.1.1 Preparation of seedbeds. The seedbeds should have good drainage and fertile soil. Organic fertilizer should be applied 2 months before sowing, with 30 t/hm2 of composted farmyard manure; fertilizer should be applied 13 days before sowing, with 600 kg/hm2 of 45% NPK compound fertilizer. The ratio of seedbeds to fields: mechanized transplanting 1:100, manual transplanting 1:6. 5.2.1.2 Seed treatment. The seeds should be full, free from diseases and pests, and free from mechanical damage. The seeds should be sun-dried for 1–2 days before sowing. The seeds should be disinfected with 25% Mancozeb emulsion at the specified dosage. First, soak the seeds in water for 8–10 hours to remove empty and shriveled seeds, then remove them and keep them moist for 2 hours. After that, soak the seeds for 12 hours and place them in a well-ventilated environment for germination. It is strictly prohibited to germinate the seeds in woven bags or sealed containers. 5.2.1.3 Sowing period and sowing amount. Sow the seeds at the appropriate time to prevent high temperatures from hastening maturity and affecting seed quality. The sowing period of the seed production fields should be 5 days earlier or later than that of the surrounding rice fields.
