Scope: This standard specifies the terms and definitions involved in the identification of timber legality, the principles of timber source legality for enterprises, and control methods, as well as identification marks, etc. This standard applies to forest management units and timber processing and trading enterprises. For enterprises that engage in both forest management and timber processing and trading, they shall implement all the contents of this standard. For enterprises that do not engage in forest management activities, only those engaged in timber processing or trading shall implement the timber legality standards of the production and sales supervision chain. Main technical content: This standard includes 6 parts and 1 appendix. 1. Part 1 specifies the scope of application of the standard. The scope of application includes forest management and timber processing and trading enterprises in China's forestry industry; 2. Part 2 specifies various terms and their definitions, listing the nouns and specialized terms involved in the standard; 3. Part 3 specifies the requirements for identifying the legality of timber from forest management. The identification of forest management is based on China's forest resources management policies and combined with China's management practices, reflecting Chinese characteristics; 4. Part 4 specifies the requirements for identifying the legality of timber in the production and sales supervision chain. It applies to timber trading and timber processing enterprises, and makes specific provisions on the legality of enterprise operations and the sources of timber raw materials; 5. Part 5 grants the right to the Forestry Industry Association to supervise enterprises that adopt this group standard. This ensures the reliability of relevant marks and declarations; 6.
