Scope

Scope: This document specifies the terms and definitions of wastewater treatment in dairy parlors of large-scale dairy farms in Ningxia, the sources of dairy parlour wastewater, the process flow of dairy parlour wastewater treatment, the requirements for dairy parlour wastewater discharge, effluent water quality standards, monitoring and analysis methods, and the restrictions on water quality control items. This document applies to the wastewater treatment in dairy parlors of large-scale dairy farms in Ningxia. Main technical content: 3. Terms and Definitions The following terms and definitions apply to this standard: 3.1 Dairy wastewater The water generated during milking in dairy farms, including CIP cleaning water, water for turntable cleaning, water for rinsing milking cups, and cow hoof baths, as well as domestic wastewater. 3.2 Water of clean in place Water used for on-site cleaning in dairy parlors, referring to the wastewater generated during the cleaning of dairy parlors with water rinsing, alkali solution washing, and final rinsing. 3.3 Pretreatment The mechanical separation method used to screen out large particles and suspended substances after the collection of dairy parlour wastewater, reducing the difficulty of subsequent treatment. 3.4 Anaerobic-aerobic process A technology combining anaerobic and aerobic stages. The A (Anaerobic) stage is used for nitrogen removal, and the O (Oxic) stage is used for removing organic matter from water. The combined action of anaerobic and aerobic stages is used for phosphorus removal. 3.5 Equalization basin A tank used to equalize water quality and adjust the requirements for entering the biochemical pond. 3.6 Biochemical pond An integrated pond that uses biochemical and hydraulic clarification to treat wastewater.
