Scope
Scope: This standard specifies the terms and definitions, nursery construction, seedling transplantation, post-planting management, nursery removal, grading, and transportation for the breeding of dwarf rootstock container seedlings of apples. This standard applies to the breeding of finished dwarf rootstock container seedlings of apples; Main technical content: Select land with a sheltered, sunny location, relatively flat and open terrain, good ecological environment, convenient transportation, and far from pollution sources. The soil should be fertile, with a texture of sandy loam or loam, a pH value of 6.0–6.8, a soil layer depth of more than 80cm, a groundwater level of less than 1.5m, sufficient irrigation water sources, and good irrigation and drainage facilities. It is recommended to build windbreak forests or green fence isolation strips around the nursery. The tree species should be adapted to the local climate, grow quickly, be easy to survive, and have no symbiotic diseases or pests with apples. A complete set of isolation net rooms, cold storage, roads, and drip irrigation systems should be built. After screening, the substrate for breeding dwarf rootstock container seedlings of apples is made of materials such as grass carbon: sand: vermiculite: rice husk carbon: coconut shell, mixed and crushed in a ratio of 1:1:1:0.3:0.2, and sterilized at high temperature. The pH should be 6.5–6.8. Currently, container seedlings are mainly 1–2-year-old nursery seedlings and afforestation seedlings, most of which are transplanted into containers as bare root seedlings for short-term cultivation, resulting in severe root damage and slow recovery. With the increasing cost of seedling and transplanting labor and the rising requirements for seedling quality, container seedlings will be one of the important directions of seedling production in the future.
