Scope

This standard provides a description of the content of each section of the protection profile and security target document, and provides information such as an overview of the protection profile and security target, an introduction to the protection profile/security target, a declaration of conformity, a definition of security issues, security objectives, a definition of extended components, security requirements, a summary specification of the TOE, protection profiles and security targets for combined and component TOEs, and special circumstances.
This standard is applicable to the testing, evaluation, and procurement of information technology products, and provides guidance for product users, developers, and evaluators in the use of protection profiles and security targets.
