Scope
Scope: This guideline stipulates the investigation and evaluation of the natural regeneration status of artificial forests before transformation, the basic conditions for successfully transforming artificial forests into natural broadleaf forests, the methods of removing trees in the canopy layer of artificial forests during the transformation process, the conservation measures implemented after the transformation of artificial forests, and the description of natural broadleaf saplings successfully transformed from artificial forests in the subtropical zone, etc. This guideline is applicable to artificial forests in the subtropical zone that meet the basic conditions for transformation into natural broadleaf forests and need to undergo such transformation. Main technical content: 3.4 Forest regeneration achieved through natural seeding or sprouting. There are two methods: sexual regeneration, i.e., seed regeneration achieved through natural seeding; and asexual regeneration, i.e., sprouting regeneration, achieved through sprouting branches or root sprouts on stumps or roots. 3.5 Artificial regeneration Artificial regeneration refers to the regeneration of trees achieved through artificial methods such as direct planting (row planting or pit planting), seedling planting, division, or cuttings. 3.6 (Forest) conversion (Forest) conversion refers to the replacement of artificial forests with natural forests or the replacement of natural forests with artificial forests. 3.7 (Forest) transformation (Forest) transformation refers to the gradual change in the composition or structure of artificial or natural forests. 3.8 Native tree species Native tree species refer to trees that naturally grow in a specific region. 3.9 Trees in the canopy layer Trees in the canopy layer refer to trees growing in the canopy layer.
