GB 5040: Quarantine Procedures for Citrus Seedlings GB/T 9659: Grafted Citrus Seedlings 3 Terms and Definitions The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 9659 apply to this document. 4 Requirements 4.1 Stock 4.1.1 The stock should adapt to local climate and soil conditions. 4.1.2 It should be robust and resistant to stress, with intact roots and no quarantine-listed pests or diseases. 4.1.3 The stock should be 1–2-year-old field-grown, vigorous seedlings. 4.1.4 Red oranges from pest-free areas should be preferred. 4.2 Scion 4.2.1 The scion should be collected from mother orchards or scion trees identified by agricultural authorities. Scions should be selected from mature, robust, and well-developed branches located in the upper middle portion of the crown. Each scion should have at least three well-developed, viable buds. 4.2.2 Scions from quarantine-listed areas must not enter non-quarantine or protected areas, and scions must be free from quarantine-listed pests or diseases. 4.2.3 Scions should be collected from mother orchards or scion trees that have been identified by county-level fruit tree authorities and phytosanitary departments as high-yielding, disease-free trees with a purity rate of ≥98%. 5 Nursery Quality 5.1 Basic Requirements 5.1.1 The grafting site should be 10–15 cm above the ground on the stock, with a normal healed gra
