Scope
Scope: This document specifies the terms and definitions, site selection and layout, management of Ningdu Yellow Chicken during the egg-laying period, input material management, selenium biofortification, and detection methods for the production of selenium-enriched eggs in Ningdu Yellow Chicken. This document is applicable to the production of selenium-enriched eggs in Ningdu Yellow Chicken in Jiangxi Province. Main technical content: 3. Terms and definitions The following terms and definitions apply to this document. 3.1 Ningdu Yellow Chicken selenium-enriched eggs The eggs produced by Ningdu Yellow Chickens, which are raised within the scope of agricultural product geographical indication protection and have the physical characteristics of "three yellows" (yellow feathers, yellow shanks, and yellow beaks), "five reds" (red crowns, red beards, red faces, red ear leaves, and red eye circles), small body size and short legs, and hens with Buddha-like tail feathers, and whose selenium content meets the requirements of DB36/T 566 (0.20 mg/kg to 0.50 mg/kg). 3.2 Selenium biofortification By adding selenium additives to self-mixed feed and undergoing animal biological transformation, the organic selenium content in the product is increased. 4. Site selection and layout It shall comply with the requirements of GB/T 32148. 5. Management of Ningdu Yellow Chicken during the egg-laying period 5.1 Environmental hygiene shall comply with the provisions of NY/T 388. 5.2 Air quality shall comply with the provisions of NY/T 388. 5.3 Drinking water The water quality of drinking water shall comply with the provisions of GB/T 5749. 5.4 Temperature The suitable temperature in the coop is 24 °C to 26 °C. 5.5 Humidity The suitable relative humidity in the coop is 55% to 60%. 5.6 Lighting The daily lighting time should be 15 h to 16 h, and energy-saving and waterproof lighting equipment should be selected.
