Scope
Scope: This document specifies the terms and definitions, site selection and layout, management of Ningdu yellow chickens enriched with selenium, input requirements, selenium biofortification, and detection methods for the production of Ningdu yellow chickens in Jiangxi Province. This document is applicable to the production of Ningdu yellow chickens enriched with selenium in Jiangxi Province. Main technical content: 3. Terms and definitions The following terms and definitions apply to this document. 3.1 Ningdu yellow chickens enriched with selenium Ningdu yellow chickens enriched with selenium refer to those raised within the scope of agricultural product geographical indication protection in Jiangxi Province, which possess the following external characteristics: "three yellows" (yellow feathers, yellow shanks, and yellow beaks), "five reds" (red crowns, red beards, red faces, red ear leaves, and red eye circles), small body size and short legs, and female chickens with Buddha-like tail feathers. Their chicken meat meets the selenium content requirements specified in DB36/T 566 (0.20 mg/kg to 0.50 mg/kg). 3.2 Selenium biofortification The process of adding organic selenium feed additives or organic selenium materials to compound feed or total mixed rations to increase the supply of selenium to Ningdu yellow chickens and enable them to convert and produce chicken meat with selenium content meeting the requirements specified in this document. 4. Site selection and layout The site selection and layout shall comply with the requirements of GB/T 32148. 5. Management of Ningdu yellow chickens enriched with selenium 5.1 Environmental hygiene shall comply with the provisions of NY/T 388. 5.2 Air quality shall comply with the provisions of NY/T 388. 5.3 Drinking water The water quality of drinking water shall comply with the provisions of NY 5027. 5.4 Temperature The average temperature in the coop at a height of about 10 cm from the ground s
