Scope

Scope: This document specifies the main technical procedures for the cultivation of clustered Acer truncatum Bunge seedlings, including seed sowing and nursery cultivation, shaping and pruning, transplanting, root pruning, seedling removal from the nursery, quarantine, and file management. This document is applicable to the cultivation of clustered Acer truncatum seedlings. Main technical content: 4. Seed sowing and nursery cultivation 4.1 Preparation of sowing sites 4.2 Seed selection and processing: The seed purity shall be no less than 95%, and the excellent rate shall be no less than 80%. The moisture content shall not exceed 10%. Before sowing, the seeds shall be soaked for 24 hours and then removed for drying until they are not sticky when held in the hand. 4.3 Sowing 4.4 Post-sowing management 5. Cultivation of clustered Acer truncatum 5.1 Seedling selection: After 2 years of on-site cultivation, select bare-root seedlings with robust growth, no mechanical damage, and well-developed roots with a diameter of >1 cm for planting. 5.2 Cultivation of single-stem clustered Acer truncatum 5.3 Cultivation of combined clustered Acer truncatum 6. Shaping and pruning 6.1 Pruning period: Early spring after bud sprouting to leaf unfolding. 6.2 Method 7. Transplanting 7.1 Seedling selection: After 2 years of on-site cultivation, select seedlings with uniform branching, full crown shape, robust growth, and a diameter of >3 cm at the main branch for transplanting. 7.2 Transplanting period: Before spring bud sprouting or after autumn leaf fall. 7.3 Transplanting method: Transplant with a soil ball. The soil ball diameter for single-stem clustered seedlings shall be 30 cm, and for combined clustered seedlings, 40 cm. The planting hole shall be 10–20 cm larger than the soil ball diameter. After planting, loosen the packaging before burying the soil ball. 7.4 Planting density: Single-stem clustered seedlings shall be planted with a row spacing of 4 m × 4 m, and combined clu
