Scope
This standard specifies the diameter of twist drills used for drilling before tapping threads with a normal tapping length. The diameter of the twist drill is approximately equal to the nominal diameter (major diameter) of the thread minus the pitch. The listed drill sizes are suitable for the following threads: — Ordinary threads of GB/T 193-2003 (coarse and fine thread series): Tables 1 and 2; — British threads of ISO 263:1973 (UNC and UNF): Tables 3 and 4; — Pipe threads of GB/T 7306.1-2000 and GB/T 7307-2001: Tables 5 and 6.
