Main Technical Content: Technical Specifications for the Detection of 12 Beta-Agonist Drugs in Animal Food by Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) 1 Scope This document specifies the technical specifications for the detection of total residues of 12 beta-agonist drugs in animal food by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). This document is applicable to the determination of total residues of 12 beta-agonist drugs (clenbuterol, salbutamol, clenbuterol hydrochloride, terbutaline, tert-butyl alcohol, brombuterol, marbofloxacin, sibutramine, mabutramine, bromopride, cimetidine, and fenoterol) in pork, beef, and lamb. The microplate is coated with clenbuterol antigen. The residual beta-agonist drugs in the sample compete with the clenbuterol antigen on the enzyme plate for clenbuterol antibody. After adding the enzyme-labeled antibody, the color reagent produces a color reaction, and the termination solution terminates the reaction. The absorbance is measured at 450 nm using an enzyme reader. The absorbance value is negatively correlated with the total residues of the 12 beta-agonist drugs, and the residue quantity can be determined by comparing with the standard curve.
