This guidance technical document provides a framework for understanding and maximizing the human factors related to the successful implementation of an Electronic Imaging Management (EIM) system.
This guidance technical document primarily discusses perceptual, physical, organizational, and human factors, as these factors apply to the usability standards for the development, selection, and implementation of imaging technologies. This technical report proposes a basic framework for understanding the fundamental issues and concepts of organizational factors, human factors, and ergonomics in EIM systems. It applies the principles of socio-technical systems theory to introduce EIM into an organization. It applies human factors and ergonomic guidelines to establish usability standards for the development and selection of EIM devices, solve environmental and implementation issues, and conduct training to improve long-term productivity.
